Terms of Service
Last updated: May 25, 2026
The short version. Use Pin Magic to schedule pins from your own WordPress blog. Don't use it for spam, deceptive content, or to violate Pinterest's rules — Pinterest's terms still apply on top of ours. We provide the tool as-is and can't guarantee it'll be perfect every day. You own your content and your Pinterest account; we never claim any rights over either.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the Pin Magic WordPress plugin (the "Plugin"), Pin Magic's pin copy service (the "Service"), and this website at pinmagic.tech (collectively, "Pin Magic"). By installing, using, or paying for Pin Magic, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Pin Magic is operated by Daniel Hennessy as a sole proprietorship. You can reach us at support@pinmagic.tech for any question about these Terms.
2. Who can use Pin Magic
You can use Pin Magic if:
- You're at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction);
- You own or have permission to manage the WordPress site you install the Plugin on;
- You own or have permission to manage the Pinterest account you connect to the Plugin;
- You're not on any current sanctions list, and your use complies with the laws of your country.
3. Your account and your Pinterest connection
Pin Magic doesn't have user accounts of its own — the Plugin lives on your WordPress install and authenticates via your existing WordPress admin login. You're responsible for keeping that admin login secure.
When you connect your Pinterest account using "Connect to Pinterest," you're authorizing the Plugin to act on your behalf via Pinterest's official API. You can revoke that authorization at any time from your Pinterest account settings, or by disconnecting inside the Plugin. You remain solely responsible for everything published to your Pinterest account through the Plugin, including any violations of Pinterest's Community Guidelines or Pinterest's own terms of service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Pin Magic to:
- Publish content that violates Pinterest's Community Guidelines or any other Pinterest policy (spam, hateful content, harassment, sexually explicit material, dangerous misinformation, etc.);
- Publish content you don't have the right to publish (copyright infringement, trademark abuse, impersonation);
- Manipulate Pinterest's algorithm through inauthentic activity (bot networks, vote brigading, mass-account schemes);
- Attempt to bypass, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service or Pinterest's API (rate limit evasion, scraping, abuse of the pin copy service's free generation cap);
- Resell, rebrand, or sublicense the Plugin or Service as your own product;
- Use the Plugin or Service to train a competing AI/automation product;
- Use the Service in any way that violates Google's Gemini API Additional Terms (the underlying language model used to generate pin copy).
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (without refund for unused Pro time if abuse is the cause) for violations of this section. For severe or recurring abuse we'll also report violations to Pinterest where applicable.
5. Plans, pricing, billing
Pin Magic offers a Free tier and paid Pro / Pro Plus plans. Current pricing is shown on pinmagic.tech. Paid plans are billed through Freemius (our payment processor); their terms govern the billing relationship.
Refunds. If Pin Magic doesn't work for you, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. We won't argue. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
Renewals. Annual plans auto-renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. Freemius emails you a renewal reminder a few weeks ahead; you can cancel from the link in that email or from your Freemius user dashboard.
Price changes. If we raise prices, your current renewal price is locked for one more renewal cycle. We'll notify you by email at least 30 days before the new price takes effect.
6. Pin copy generation
The Plugin's "create pin" flow sends your post content through our pin copy service (powered by Google's Gemini language model — see our Privacy Policy for the data flow). The output is suggested text you can edit before publishing.
Generated pin titles and descriptions are your content once produced — we don't claim any rights over them, and you're free to edit, discard, or publish them as you see fit. You're also responsible for ensuring the generated content is accurate (especially recipe details, dietary claims, time-sensitive info) before it goes to Pinterest.
Like all language-model output, the generated text can occasionally include factual mistakes, awkward phrasings, or off-tone suggestions. Review every pin before scheduling.
7. Pin Magic's intellectual property
Pin Magic — the Plugin code, the Service code, the templates, the brand, the site copy, the logos — is owned by Daniel Hennessy and licensed to you on a per-install basis under the terms below.
Plugin license. The Plugin's PHP code is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later, which is required for WordPress plugins. The GPL governs the source code only; the Pin Magic name, logo, and visual templates remain proprietary and may not be reused outside of the licensed Plugin context without written permission.
Service license. Access to the pin copy service is a hosted offering, not an open-source product. Your right to use the Service is granted by these Terms and is tied to having a working Plugin installation and (for Pro features) an active Pro subscription.
8. Your content
You retain full ownership of:
- Your WordPress posts and the images you upload to your blog;
- The pin titles, descriptions, and edits you create using the Plugin;
- The Pinterest pins and boards in your Pinterest account.
By using the Plugin's pin copy service, you grant us a narrow, non-exclusive license to process the post content you submit only for the purpose of returning generated pin copy to your WordPress site. We do not store, share, or reuse your content beyond the time required for that single request. See the Privacy Policy, section 3.
9. Disclaimers
Pin Magic is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available;
- We don't guarantee any specific business outcome from using Pin Magic (impressions, traffic, follower growth, revenue);
- We don't guarantee that Pinterest will accept every pin you publish, or that Pinterest won't change its API in a way that temporarily breaks parts of the Plugin;
- We don't guarantee that generated pin copy will be free of factual errors, biases, or awkward wording.
You use Pin Magic at your own risk. Always back up your WordPress site before installing or updating any plugin.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Pin Magic's total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to Pin Magic — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Pin Magic in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US $100.
Pin Magic is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption — even if we've been advised of the possibility of those damages.
Some jurisdictions don't allow some of these limitations. To the extent they apply to you, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by your local law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Pin Magic and Daniel Hennessy harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of Pinterest's terms or any other third-party rights through your use of the Plugin, or (c) the content you publish to Pinterest through the Plugin.
12. Termination
You can stop using Pin Magic at any time by deactivating and deleting the Plugin from your WordPress site. Deleting the Plugin removes all stored data (see Privacy Policy, section 5). If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it through Freemius to stop future billing.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if continued provision is technically infeasible, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give Pro users at least 60 days' notice and a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current term.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes (pricing, your rights, our liability), we'll notify you by email (if you're a paying customer) and via a notice in the Plugin's admin dashboard at least 30 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Before filing any lawsuit, please contact us first at support@pinmagic.tech — we'd much rather work it out informally.
15. Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets; you may not assign them without our written consent. These Terms (plus the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Pin Magic regarding the Service.
